12 weeks 4 days

… and a heartbeat.  : )  No ultrasound or first trimester screenings for us. We’ve already had genetic testing when our baby was an embryo and it’s nice not to be under the microscope right now.

Next appointment is in four weeks and I’ll write another update. Know that you’re all in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for keeping us close in yours as well!

10 weeks a few days and Graduation

My estradiol and progesterone levels were checked once again today and they were “looking great” as my IVF nurse said. I had my last estradiol pill on Friday and estradiol patch removed Saturday night. Tomorrow morning is my last PIO shot. With the bloodwork results today, I get to start weaning off the prednisone. Down from 15mg to 10mg for three days, then to 5 for three days, and then no more.

“Have a great year!” she said, “Send us pictures!” I’m not sure I’ve let myself even imagine pictures, not just blurry black and whites, but real pictures. Oh, I pray I get to take those pictures and share them with the clinic in person.

And we have a “T-rex!” with arms, legs, and movement today. Heartbeat at 174. I was so nervous that I almost didn’t watch. We graduate from our fertility clinic this week but medications continue for a while. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers! We wouldn’t be here without them. Next appointment is 12 weeks at the end of July. Since we did PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis – which tested all chromosomes), we don’t plan on doing the NT scan or the blood screening tests and we don’t plan to have another ultrasound until 20 weeks. Decisions, decisions! I do love these early pictures!
